The Burnstad’s celebrated Thanksgiving a week early and we got to join them! They are one of those families where the minute you step in the door, you’re treated like part of the family.
Alayna’s been a friend of mine for a few years now and I always look forward to seeing her because it feels like no time has passed at all. She invited us out to her parent’s farm in Red Water, Alberta for a family session and then some portraits of her and her husband Colin, they run an Outfitting business and needed some images for their website.

After Siena had her own little birthday shoot, Trina and Jeremy joined in for a family session out at a St. Albert park. The sunlight, combined with Siena’s smiles and constant desire to eat anything she could get her hands on made for a wonderful evening. I think Jeremy even enjoyed himself a little more than he expected to in front of a camera. It was great getting to know you guys, hope you enjoy some of my favourites.

Siena’s turning 1 years old in a couple of weeks, and to celebrate her mom got her a tutu and let her eat cake! Its no wonder she was all smiles and giggles. It was lovely to meet you Siena and I hope you have a wonderful birthday with your family.

I love that photography not only lets me take the pictures capturing the exciting times in peoples lives, but it also gives me the chance to catch up with old friends! After a lovely dinner we spent a few hours taking pictures with her son Dominic and then a few gorgeous shots of just her, a perfect belly and the light. I owe a HUGE thank you to Tracy and Chad. They were my first booking ever for Wedding Photography, which pushed me to get into photography on a more full time bases.
Shooting a friend’s wedding is so much fun! It feels like attending a wedding but getting to have a special ‘in’ with the couple and families throughout the whole day! The two of them were so calm and relaxed during the day. They both knew how to have fun and not sweat the small stuff..even if a crazy wind/rain storm starts up during the photo shoot…it just gives them more time to hang out with friends in the cozy atmosphere of a log cabin out at Fort Edmonton park.

Melanie’s a cousin of mine, whom i’ve always admired. She’s the oldest of us all and it’s been wonderful over the last few years to become closer to her as a friend. She’s now living in Norway with a family of her own, so this summer while they were visiting us in Canada I was very excited to be asked to take their family pictures for them. We did them out at her parents acreage in Ardrossan. The light was perfect, the location beautiful, and the family…tons of fun. Shaun and I had a blast hanging out for the evening.
After bring the kids inside to get ready for bed, we spent some time with just Melanie and Harald too.

In light of the chair session portraits we were doing with Scade Photography, Breanna decided it would be a good idea to have some of us done as a group of sisters. We decided that since we don’t dress up very often we’d wait until our cousin Amy’s wedding this summer. There weren’t any chairs involved, but we made do and had fun dancing to David’s cell phone ringing in the background.
